When Fashion Feels Intimidating — and Why It Still Matters
Share
For many women, fashion can feel overwhelming, expensive, or simply out of reach. But personal style isn't about trends or perfection — it's about feeling confident, comfortable, and like yourself. At Adored Again, we believe that fashion is a quiet form of self-care, and that finding pieces you truly love should feel gentle, accessible, and deeply personal.
Recently, I was reading a seasonal magazine from EVEREVE, one of my favorite places to find new pieces, and something at the beginning caught my attention.
They surveyed 1,000 women across the country, asking how they feel about fashion today. The results were striking:
71% say fashion feels intimidating.
71% wish they had access to trusted fashion guidance.
65% feel like they’ve lost touch with their personal style.
45% have cried in a dressing room.
And yet…
90% of women still believe fashion is a form of self-care.
That one stayed with me.
Because in so many areas of my life, I see the same truth again and again.
I own a wellness studio, and I’ve spent years sitting with women and men as they work through emotional, physical, and spiritual challenges. I also facilitate a support group where women learn to care for themselves amid difficult circumstances.
And almost every time, the first question I ask is simple:
What are you doing for self-care?
Because when we care for ourselves, we increase our capacity to meet life as it is.
We don’t remove the challenges — but we become more supported as we move through them.
And when I read that 71% of women wish they had access to trusted fashion guidance, it felt deeply aligned with something I had already been feeling.
It’s one of the very reasons I’ve begun offering private styling sessions through Adored Again.
Because having someone you trust — someone who sees you, listens to you, and gently guides you — can make all the difference. It softens the overwhelm. It brings clarity. It allows you to feel more confident in what you choose and how you show up.
These sessions are designed to be supportive, personal, and pressure-free. A space where you can reconnect with your style in a way that feels natural and aligned.
And because I truly want this to be accessible, the full cost of your session can be applied toward your purchase when you spend $75 or more. In that way, the experience directly supports you in choosing pieces you’ll genuinely love.
More than anything, my hope is simple:
That you feel cared for.
That you feel confident.
That you feel supported.
I would truly love to support you in this way.
If this kind of support resonates with you, you’re always welcome to explore or reserve a session here.
For some women, self-care looks like breathwork, meditation, yoga, or long, quiet baths. For others, it’s movement, music, or simply stepping outside for a moment of stillness.
For me, it’s fashion.
Truly.
There is something deeply supportive about feeling good in what you’re wearing. About feeling comfortable, strong, and aligned in how you present yourself to the world. It doesn’t have to be complicated, and it doesn’t have to be expensive — but it does matter.
Because when I don’t feel my best in what I’m wearing, I can feel it.
A subtle sense of hesitation. A quiet insecurity.
And I don’t wish that for anyone.
I want us to feel steady in ourselves. I want us to feel confident enough to sit in our circumstances and meet them with clarity and strength.
Fashion can be part of that.
Not as pressure. Not as perfection. But as support.
And if fashion doesn’t feel like your thing right now — that’s okay too.
This is exactly why Adored Again exists.
A place where you can explore what feels right for you, at a more accessible price, without pressure or overwhelm. A place to reconnect with your sense of style in a way that feels gentle, not intimidating.
Because fashion isn’t meant to make you feel less than.
It’s meant to help you feel more like yourself.
And that, in its own quiet way, is self-care.
If you would like to peruse our previously adored fashion collections that fit you best, you can do that here
Sending so much love and compassion your way.
